Parent/Child Dedication

Parent/Child Dedication

"And she said to him, 'As surely as you live, my Lord, I am the woman who stood here beside you praying to the Lord. I prayed for this child, and the Lord has granted me what I asked of Him. So now I give him to the Lord. For his whole life he will be given over to the Lord.' And they worshipped the Lord there."
1 Samuel 1:26-28 (NIV)

It is Grace’s custom to offer Parent/Child Dedication services for infants and children. This is a special time of public ceremony and personal commitment when the child's parents and the church family promise to raise the child in the instruction of the Lord.

Typically, dedication services are held throughout the year on Sunday mornings as part of the regular worship service. The church family, in witnessing this ceremony, pledges itself to the spiritual care and education of the child. It is also a reminder to the congregation that all of the children of the church belong to God and are our mutual responsibility.

If you have interest in participating in our next dedication which will take place on June 17th (Father’s Day), we invite you to attend a mandatory meeting on Sunday, June 10th immediately following our worship service at 11:30am.
