In a down economy such as ours, one of the first things to go is the concept of generosity. Whenever we feel that what we have is being diminished, our first instinct is to tighten our grip. And as we tighten our grip, we in turn become more stingy and less generous. And yet, at the very same time, we are encouraged from the life and teachings of Christ that it is more blessed to give than receive. So, what do we do with that? How do we apply the teachings of Jesus to our lives and practice them when all we want to do is hang on to our stuff for dear life?
